1930's vintage Fred Davis Silver and Carved Amethyst Tulip Pin Brooch

Dimensions: 4-1/2" long, 1-3/4" wide; 41.73 grams

Stone Dimensions: The large carved tulip is 1-1/8" long x 1" wide. The small carved tulip is 7/8" long x 3/4" wide; Both stones are slightly occluded and in good condition.

Marks: Incised conjoined FD, SILVER, MEXICO

Condition: Very good for its age; pin in good working order

This is an early handcrafted pin. Fred Davis was a very influential figure in the cultural revival of Mexican heritage. The large leaf is reminiscent of Vidauratta's work, and he did in fact collaborate with Davis.

This pin is an exceptional piece of early 20th century Mexican jewelry.
