Tammy Garcia silver marks

Tammy Garcia (Santa Clara Pueblo) is probably one of the most important Native American artists currently practicing. She is widely known for her works in clay.

This belt represents one of her first forays into casting multiples of her work. I purchased it in 2000 directly from Blue Rain Gallery. I never wore it; I never even punched the leather belt to my size. It is in pristine condition. The turtle conchos are a beautiful representation of how she interprets Native American symbols. This is an impressive piece of body jewelry.
